Stephen Ministry Stephen Ministry is a Christian caring ministry grounded in Jesus' command to love one another. Through one-to-one caring and confidential relationships, those who are going through a difficult time or crisis receive the love and care they need to support them. Stephen ministers are lay Christians selected, trained and supervised by Stephen Leaders to provide effective Christian care. In addition to giving care receivers a compassionate listening ear, Stephen Ministers invite care receivers into a relationship with God through Christ. If should find yourself in need of a Stephen Minister, contact the church office or a pastor at 478-746-9688 ext 113.
Community Outreach God calls us to proclaim His name throughout the world. We work to provide support to numberous concerns locally and beyond. Young and old alike have helped with initiatives such as Rebuild Together, Macon Outreach, and Habitat for Humanity. Annually, our youth participate in a mission project to help refurbish low income housing - sometimes locally, sometimes far away. We frequently provide support to organizations such as Wesley Glen, Magnolia Manor, and the Methodist Home for Children and Youth. Riverside also supports two missionary families through the South Georgia Conference. Numerous church members through the years have participated in mission teams to countries abroad.
If you would like to help support missions through Riverside, please mark your check for the particular mission you want to help support and send it to: Riverside UMC, 735 Pierce Ave., Macon, GA 31204.
